Fall 2018 - Spring 2019 Travel Team Evaluations

Girls/Boys Born in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010

The Great Neck Soccer Club, one of Long Island’s premier soccer programs, has been showcasing competitive boys and girls travel soccer teams since 2000.  Starting the week of June 4th, the Club will be holding evaluations for our Fall 2018/Spring 2019 Girls and Boys Travel Soccer Teams.  The Club's intention with these evaluations is to add travel ready players to our Girls and Boys Travel Teams.

EVALUATION REGISTRATION

Any player not on a current GNSC Travel Team roster, who wishes to be evaluated for a GNSC Travel Team, must be registered on or before June 1, 2018 in order to participate in the evaluations.   All registration is done online by clicking on the REGISTER TODAY banner above, entering the requested information, and paying the $20 registration fee.

All current U8 through U12 players will be evaluated as part of the Club's standard evaluation process, which will take into account the development of all players over the course of the Spring 2018 season.  While we do not anticipate major shifts in the rosters of our legacy teams, players may be moved around to ensure that they are aligned with the teams that best meet their current level of development.  Any questions regarding these evaluations should be directed to our Director of Coaching/Player Development, Eamonn Flood (eflood@gnsoccer.com).

TRAVEL TEAM ELIGIBILITY

Travel Soccer Teams are broken up by age groups (ex: U9, U10, U11, U12, etc.), which are based on a player’s birth year (ex: 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, etc.).  Determining the age group your son/daughter would qualify to play in this Fall is fairly simple:  Year Season Ends – Player’s Birth Year = Eligible Age Group.  For example, if your son/daughter is born in 2010 he/she would qualify to play on a U9 team this Fall:  2019 (Year Season Ends) – 2010 (Player’s Birth Year) = U9 Age Group.

Based on the current needs of our Girls Teams, here are the Girls’ Age Groups eligible for evaluation:

  • U9/10 Girls Age Group (NEW TEAM):  Girls born in 2009 & 2010

  • U11 Girls Age Group (White Storm):  Girls born in 2008

  • U12 Girls Age Group (Green Storm):  Girls born in 2007

  • U13 Girls Age Group (Dragonflies & Lady Strikers):  Girls born in 2006

Based on the current needs of our Boys Teams, here are the Boys’ Age Groups eligible for evaluation:

  • U9   Boys Age Group (Bearcats):  Boys born in 2010

  • U10 Boys Age Group (Green Rockets & Cannonballs):  Boys born in 2009

  • U11 Boys Age Group (Warriors & Volcanoes):  Boys born in 2008

  • U12 Boys Age Group (Coyotes & Fire & Scorpions):  Boys born in 2007

  • U13 Boys Age Group (Galaxy & Grizzlies):  Boys born in 2006

There will be a seperate evaluation for Boys/Girls born in 2011 and 2012 who would like to take part in our Pre-Travel Program.  Please visit the PRE-TRAVEL link on our website for the details.
